Will This Advent Be Different?
There’s an old saying: “If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.” God wants Advent to be a time of preparing our hearts to receive MORE from Him. MORE grace. MORE blessing. But it’s so easy for us to fall into the same old ruts that fails to prepare us for MORE. Advent becomes a busy time (another one among all our busy times) for shopping, baking, decorating and planning social events. In the end, if we’re really honest with ourselves, Jesus gets left out. And if He’s left our of our Advent, he’s all too often left out of our Christmas – except for the obligatory Christmas Mass.
